To better homogenize the mixer or the blixer?

To better homogenize the mixer or the blixer? This is the question that every restaurateur asks himself. And not only that: also cooks in kindergartens and care facilities, above all.

Often, in fact, the difference between mixer and blixer is not clear. Usually, by mixer, we mean the immersion one or more simply a blender.

It is composed of a motor and a crusher tube with a knife. It is used on tall pots, usually, and requires the use of the operator's arm, unless you also take the guide accessory for the support, in fact, on the pot.

Who uses this device? Retirement homes and canteens for intense use, but large and small restaurants can also have it. They are, in fact, professional homogenizers.

So what's the advantage of the blixer?

The blixer is similar to a cutter. It's a robot with a knife, with smooth or toothed blades. It must be used in pulses and does not have a motor designed for continuous use. The word is a creation of the French parent company Robot Coupes.

Its disadvantage is that during mechanical action what is inserted into the container spreads on the walls. So, the small pieces remain and it doesn't all become perfectly homogeneous. This is why the homogenizer for the elderly is often used in nursing homes.

The blixer, on the other hand, has a scraper mounted on the lid that rotates via the lever in the center. With this tool, everything that is attached to the walls of the tub comes back down. The blixer has a big advantage: it allows you to mix and homogenize any raw or cooked food. Everything turns into cream or velvety. Or in a mince or in a perfect butter. Think, for example, of dried fruit.

Without, moreover, weights to support or turns to make with the arms, as happens, for example, when using the immersion mixer. They are all part of the professional blenders and homogenizers category.

What is a blixer? Is it really better than a mixer for blending?

The more general definition is that it is a mixer. More specifically we can say that it is a knife with a tub. Which also has the functions of a blender. The material it is made of is stainless steel. Except the scraper which is made of plastic material and has a rubber part, similar to a gasket for a better "grip" and cleaning of the sides of the tank.

The Blixer® is a registered trademark of Robot Coupe. On large quantities it is not possible to mix the contents as on a glass blender and the expedient used to have super homogeneous creams or mince.
