Reopen a restaurant: here's what to do!

Has your restaurant been closed for a while and is it time to reopen it? Here's how to fix and clean it up to reopen your business to the public in the best possible way!

Clean the restaurant

The cleaning of your restaurant is a must and must be done with a brush. Some special attention must be paid to the kitchen: do not forget to clean the oven, even inside, and to wash the dishwasher. Remember to also clean the grills, the hood and the fridge: during the closing period of the premises, dirt and dust can accumulate, so we suggest you pay attention to every corner.

Here are some rules to follow to better clean your restaurant:

  1. Use suitable products: choose detergents and detergents carefully. Professional equipment must be cleaned with indicated products and not with those commercially available for domestic use
  2. Rinse the surfaces several times to remove any chemical residue
  3. Use gloves
  4. Close and seal all the bottles, over time the fumes may expand into the air
  5. Store used detergents in a cupboard or closed space and away from heat sources
  6. Do not use too aggressive sponges and detergents. The steel wool on the steel, better not.

Professional appliances

Make sure that the professional equipment, such as the dishwasher, oven and fridge, is still working well before reopening: if you notice any malfunctions or problems it would be really unpleasant to have them fixed at the last minute! Better to take your time and contact your maintenance technician to do all the correct checks.

Revisit the menu

Make sure that the menu is still in line with the wishes of your customers and buy all the raw materials necessary for the preparation of your dishes. You could make some small changes to your menu by inserting some new dishes or trying to recover the scraps of your main dishes using tools such as the Pacojet.
