Gastronorm trays dimensions: they are standard or not

The dimensions, or measures, of the gastronorm trays are standard. In Italy they represent the most widespread measure in catering, but they are also valid abroad. Knowing the dimensions of the gastronorm pans will help you a lot in the kitchen!

In fact, these measures refer to trays, pans, containers, grids and lids. But they can also involve containers, muffin molds, pizza plates, pans and plates. That's why knowing the GN sizes will help you spot the accessories most suitable for your professional kitchen.

Multiples and submultiples are used to size equipment, particularly ovens. In addition, the pan size also applies to gastronorm pans.

Knowing these dimensions is also useful in a pizzeria. In the pizza display cabinets the ingredients are in fact placed on gastronorm trays, always supported by sleepers.

La difference between pans and trays lies in the fact that the former have a rounded edge and may have a lid, while the others do not. Gastronorm measurements remain the same.
